Rhinoplasty
What is Rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty, also known as a nose job, is a surgical procedure to change the shape, size, or proportions of the nose. It can be performed for aesthetic reasons or to correct breathing issues. There are two main methods:
Open Rhinoplasty: The surgeon makes an incision across the columella (the tissue between the nostrils), providing a wide view of the nasal structures.
Closed Rhinoplasty: Incisions are made inside the nostrils, leaving no visible scars and generally offering a quicker recovery.
During rhinoplasty, the size, shape, tip, or nostrils of the nose can be altered. The surgery is performed under local or general anesthesia and typically takes 1-3 hours. Recovery may take a few weeks, with final results becoming apparent within a few months.
